With a population of less than 2000 and achingly beautiful views of the Resurrection Bay and the mountains Seward, Alaska is the perfect choice for those that love the mountains AND the sea. Originally a port for incoming prospectors headed to the Gold fields of Alaska. There are many old buildings and a rich history in the lovely town. Known worldwide as the host of the treacherous Mount Marathon Race that attracts both world famous athletes and spectators every year on the Fourth of July. You can go for a hike in the mountains, see a glacier, and have a fresh seafood dinner while watching the sea lions play in the Bay – on the same day. Next to the Denali National Park – Seward is the second most popular tourist destination in the State of Alaska. Cruise ships stop throughout the summer, and the Alaska Railroad has a depot here. With a hospital, great schools, and a small town feel – this is a great place to live. Warning though, Seward is known for rain, much like Seattle, but the sunny days make it oh so worth it!
